‘A magical Christmas awaits you’ – Saint Hill festivities revealed

An ice rink, “jaw-dropping” gingerbread castle and “over 100,000 Christmas lights” are among the attractions at the Church of Scientology’s UK headquarters this festive season, a promotional magazine reveals.

Saint Hill Manor, a secluded country estate nestled in the Sussex countryside, was once home to L. Ron Hubbard before he fled the country after being declared an “undesirable alien” by the UK government in 1968. Since then, it has served as a major operational base for the controversial Church.

In recent months, local residents have taken to social media to voice concerns about the “chaos” and “disruption” events at the compound cause the local community after thousands of parishioners traveled to the area to attend a gathering in a mammoth 45,000 square foot marquee erected without planning permission. The International Association of Scientologists (IAS) event was held on the weekend of October 31st and photos reveal celebrities including Tom Cruise, Nancy Cartwright and Elena Cardone were in attendance.

Now, Scientology have published their winter events calendar, featuring a number of attractions seemingly aimed at winning back the support of residents.
