In September, we reported that the Church of Scientology had orchestrated a campaign to file complaints with this website’s hosting provider in a desperate attempt to prevent our reporting on their UK and European activities.
Now we can reveal the details of the complaints, which all centre around our re-publishing of Scientology’s donor lists and photographs of Scientologists which were initially shared on social media and/or in church promotional magazines.
The complaints were all filed within a limited time frame and contain nearly identical text, suggesting the complainants were engaging in an organised campaign of harassment, understood to be orchestrated by the Church of Scientology’s Office of Special Affairs (OSA).
This is the latest escalation in a prolific campaign of targeted harassment against former members, and consists of over twenty reports submitted by dozens of Scientologists, many of whom were not featured or mentioned in the articles they were complaining about and some of whom belong to wealthy donor families such as the Gaiman’s, the Wordie’s and the Cronin’s. There were also a number of complaints submitted by staff who work at the Church of Scientology London and Saint Hill, their UK headquarters near East Grinstead, Sussex.
Scientology has a well-documented history of attacking critics and former members under a policy called ‘Fair Game’, which states those it deems as enemies may be “tricked, sued lied to or destroyed”.
The complaints come after Mid-Sussex District Council leader Councillor Robert Eggleston recommended the Church of Scientology refer themselves to the Information Commissioner’s Office for breaching data laws after it was revealed they had sent an un-redacted information pack to Council officers containing personal, private information about protestors during a debate on whether to ban demonstrations outside their UK headquarters. The proposal for a Public Spaces Protection Order, submitted by Scientology, were rejected by the Cabinet earlier this year.

I was forwarded this information and link to this page by a friend. He contacted me and alerted me to the above webpage after seeing an image of my son appears in the photo in the article.
I have no idea why there is use of a picture of my son on this site.
I absolutely have never consented to this photograph being used and/or attached to the publication or use of this personal information on this site.I find it quite distressing that someone – unknown to me- has trawled the internet or perhaps specifically targeted my son and perhaps other children in the photo that is used.
This raises real concerns for me.
Given the very hostile and – in my opinion – untrue nature if the article, I have concerns for my son’s privacy from the perpetrator of this offence.
I have sought advice on this matter and here are some facts as I understand them:Reason for my complaint:
The webpage publishes identifiable personal data and images without consent, which amounts to a clear invasion of privacy and causes extreme anxiety and distress. In my view, this violates the UK GDPR and other applicable data protection laws. This picture containing my son needs to be removed – immediately.
I can’t speak for the other children and their parents, I do know some of them, but I am going to find out if they are also aware of this picture being unlawfully used.
Please confirm receipt of this complaint and let me know how this matter will be addressed urgently.
This is causing me distress and concern – this infringement of my son’s privacy.

My husband recently brought to my attention that this webpage features an image of our family, including our two underage children. I was deeply disturbed to see this, as I have never granted permission for our personal information or images to be published on this site.
This unapproved exposure has caused significant distress to our family, especially due to the inclusion of our children.
