Scientology’s UK Shell Companies

In the United Kingdom, Scientology operates through an Australian-registered charity named Church of Scientology Religious Education College, Inc. (COSRECI). However, when they applied (and were rejected) for charity status in 1999, they did so under another entity, Church of Scientology (England and Wales).

It appears there are a number of currently active Scientology shell companies related or linked to their UK operations. Some key people linked to these registrations include Janet Laveau, former head of OSA and current Managing Director of Scientology in the UK; Graeme Wilson, current the UK head of Scientology’s Office of Special Affairs (OSA); and the Hodkin family – a family team of lawyers who represent Scientology in all UK legal cases.

Interestingly, the appears to be a mixture of for-profit and non-profit (Limited by Guarantee) organisations registered with Companies House. This raises the question of whether it presents a conflict of interest for a Sea Org executive such as Graeme Wilson to benefit personally as the director of a private company, whilst holding an executive position in a Scientology non-profit.

SOR (Sea Org Reserves) operates under two registered corporations: SOR Services (UK) Ltd and SOR Holding (UK) Ltd; and the for-profit Nesta Investments Ltd, which owns Scientology real estate, leases property to COSRECI.

This is a directory of related Scientology shell companies that are currently active and operating in the United Kingdom. Although this list is extensive, it is not exhaustive. If you are aware of a Scientology-related corporation operating in the UK or Europe, please contact us with their name and company registration number (if you know it) and we will make sure it is added to this directory.
